Hi, I’m
 Dr. Arisha Patel.

I am a triple board-certified Oncologist, Hematologist, and Internist. I practiced as a breast oncologist and became a generalist in precision oncology, working across tumor types and the full range of cancer and blood disorders. My career has moved through the rooms where cancer care is decided: the clinic, the research lab, the drug industry, and the academic center, with one question at the center. Why does cancer care begin so late and end so early?

Career Timeline

2014–2016

Internal Medicine

University of Pittsburgh Medical Center

Residency training in Internal Medicine.

2016–2019

Hematology-Oncology

UPMC Hillman Cancer Center

Fellowship training at an NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center.

2017–2019

NIH-Funded Research

University of Pittsburgh

Postdoctoral fellowship through the NIH T32 Entrepreneurial Research Training Program. With a cross-disciplinary team of physician-scientists at UPMC and doctoral scientists at Carnegie Mellon, I built machine learning models predicting hospital readmissions in sickle cell disease, published in the British Journal of Haematology, one of the first physician-led applications of machine learning in clinical outcomes research. Alongside my medical training I earned my MBA at Carnegie Mellon’s Tepper School of Business in Biomedical Entrepreneurship and AI in Healthcare.

2019–2021

Personalized Healthcare / Precision Oncology

Genentech, a Roche company

Senior Medical Director and Medical Director for MyPathway, a tumor-agnostic Phase 2a basket trial spanning molecularly targeted and immuno-oncology therapies. Where novel basket designs did not fit traditional registration pathways, the program’s data supported NCCN Category 2A guideline recommendations, creating evidence-based access to targeted therapies for patients with few remaining options. Additional work included real-world data, machine-learning external control arms, and biomarker-testing coverage and policy.

2020–2022

Oncology & Hematology

Stanford University School of Medicine

Adjunct Clinical Instructor in Oncology and Hematology, practicing as a breast oncologist.

2022–Present

Founder and CEO

BioNurture and BioSynova

BioNurture is a physician-led oncology and hematology practice focused on elevated cancer risk, survivorship, and complex hematologic care.

BioSynova is developing the clinical intelligence and longitudinal data infrastructure behind predictive cancer care.

They merge everything that came before: healthcare outcomes research, clinical trial design, and precision oncology, applied as one framework for cancer prevention and survivorship. The Cancer Resilience Index, a methodology in development, is that framework taking shape.
