The Cancer Resilience Code brings together my essays, a forthcoming podcast, and ongoing work across medicine, technology, and what it takes to build in healthcare.

The Cancer Resilience Code

Cancer Is Not an Event

For fifteen years I have been in the rooms where cancer care is decided, and I have never been in all of them at once until now. The clinic, as an Oncologist, Hematologist, and Internist, where I sat with patients and their families through the most vulnerable conversations in medicine. The research lab, as an NIH-funded physician-scientist, where I built some of the first physician-led machine learning models in clinical outcomes research. The drug industry, as a Senior Medical Director at Genentech, where our basket trial work changed guidelines and opened targeted therapy to patients who had run out of options. The academic center, at Stanford, where I practiced as a breast oncologist.
